Swedish-owned M/V OKTAVIA offers private charters as well as scheduled diving and snorkeling cruises to the Similan Islands and Richelieu Rock in southern Thailand, one of the world’s most beautiful and exciting marine areas.
Originally she was built in 2003, MV Oktavia was then completely renovated in 2007 to provide increased comfort and enough space for scuba divers. M/V Oktavia is 30 meters long and 6.5 meters wide. The size and weight makes her very steady in the ocean even if the waves are a bit rough. The extra-large dive deck makes it possible to take good use of the space when getting ready to go diving and it is easy to climb in and out of the water. Oktavia is a quiet boat with a wooden hull which is excellent at reducing the engine sound coming from the engine room. Safety is of course a top priority, and the M/V Oktavia meets all international safety standards.
MV Oktavia has two very large and comfortable master suite cabins and 13 “blue ocean”-cabins, large cabins with ample space and equipped with air conditioning, fan, reading lamps, and large panoramic windows. There are usually only two guests per cabin, unless a family chooses a triple bed cabin. M/V Oktavia is one of the largest dive boats sailing around the Surin and Similan Islands, which means plenty of space to spare, and no tight spaces. At most trips we accommodate 20 diving or non-diving guests on board, and that only takes up less than half the space the boat was built to handle. The staff of the M/V OKTAVIA welcomes babies and children of all ages, and takes good care of them while their parents can enjoy the Similan Islands to the fullest.
The large sundeck allows you to enjoy incredible views of Surin and Similan islands and spectacular sunsets in the Andaman Sea. The “Party Deck” has comfortable seating with plenty of large and comfortable armchairs and sofas where you can read books, and share your adventure stories about diving. Our highly trained staff on board the M/V Oktavia ensures that we go out in small dive-groups with a maximum of 4 divers per guide – and the divers are also divided by experience and comfort level. The maximum time for diving is usually 1 hour. There are four amazing dives scheduled for each day, including the choice between a sunset or a night dive.
We welcome you to have an unforgettable diving experience on board M/V Oktavia!
